I've been using a lot of Photoshop brushes in my work lately, and although it's a little hard to keep track of which ones are used in each piece of artwork, I have tried to keep track of where I downloaded all the goodies. (And if you spot your brushes and I don't credit you, please let me know -- some of the brush sets were compilations and the original authors often weren't identified.)

Most of the downloads came through the Photoshop Brushes web ring.

  • Some of the romantic and exotic touches are Brushy Brushes from Relique.net
  • I downloaded several fun sets from Dani3D
  • I also found a great set called Hue & Saturation from Xerampelaine
  • Another nice set comes from Emily Stallings of paintedeyes.org
  • The Starduster brushes include everything from locks and keys, to money, to angels.
  • Princeaux has lips, eyes, hummingbirds, dirt, some bathroom tiles, and a really nice brick wall in the brush sets.
  • More bricks! Nycteris has bricks, squares, dots, and some movie and boy band brushes.
  • Tymoes splatter brushes are fun. He also has sets of layer styles, gradients, and shapes.

Other Links

One of my favorite jobs of all times was at a company called SPC (Software Publishing Corporation) which is now defunct. Luckily, someone has created a web site for us XSPC-ers so we can track each other down.
